This ornamental hawthorn is a hybrid cross between 'Charles X' and 'Paul's Scarlet'. The lightly scented, colourful flowers appear around May and they are nectar rich, providing a good, early food source for bees, butterflies and other insects. The flowers form into small red berries which are loved by birds. Makes an excellent specimen tree or can be incorporated in the border. Likes full sun or partial shade.
