Bareroot season is almost over!
It hardly seems possible that spring has arrived. This means that the time for planting bare rooted plants is almost over! The season for planting is generally between November and March, during the dormant time. Plants available during the season are generally woodland and hedging plants, including broadleaves and conifers. The plants are grown in the open ground and are dug up when required, being supplied with no soil around the roots.
Examples of species include Acer campestre, the field maple, Alnus glutinosa, common alder, Carpinus betulus, hornbeam, Crataegus monogyna, hawthorn, Fagus sylvatica, beech and many more trees and shrubs suitable for hedging and woodland. They are available in bundles of 10, with some standard-form plants being available as singles.
