Early summer at English Woodlands tree and shrub nursery

It's a wonderful time of year here on the nursery at English Woodlands.  Come and enjoy the spring and early summer growth! The fresh leaves are looking particularly luscious and the blossom is buzzing with bees. Pictured below is Liquidambar 'Slender Silhouette', a charming tree that is suitable for small spaces because it retains its slim nature. Liquidambar is often chosen for its autumn leaf colour, but we think it should have an accolade for its foliage in spring and early summer too!

It goes without saying that the various Acers with their red, palmatum leaves, are also resplendent in their cloaks of scarlet. They make a great colour constrast when placed near lime-green foliage. It's a show that is as good as flowers, if not better!

The blossom and spring flowering shrubs are stars in their own right and that amazingly useful, hardworking shrub, Photinia 'Red Robin', together with P. 'Carre Rouge' are covered in flowers. At the moment, they look like clouds.

If pure bling is the excitement you crave for your late spring, early summer garden, the Rhododendrons and Azaleas have it all! Just feast your eyes on Azalea 'Golden Eagle', so aptly named! And the glorious flowers of Rhododendron 'Mrs T H Lowinsky'.
