Bare root plants for tree and hedge planting are available. Field grown and lifted when dormant they are an economical way of creating new hedges as well as gapping up existings ones.
As last year, demand is very high and we have been working through pre-orders for collection and delivery as soon as we can. It may be possible to collect small orders for our pre-mixed hedge packs on the day but please telephone first to confirm availability. All other orders for collection and delivery should be ordered and paid for in advance please. We are now arranging delivery for the New Year, subject to availability collection may be possible prior to Christmas.
We can supply single species of plants such as beech, hornbeam, hawthorn as well as our convenient prepacked hedge mixes of 25 plants, on occasions we may have to substitute a plant in the mix.

Hedge mixtures for larger quantities of 150+ available in either 40-60cm or 60-80cm height, always 50% hawthorn, the remainder selected in multiples of 25, up to 6 species, from the following : Hawthorn, Field Maple, Spindle, Blackthorn, Beech, Hornbeam, Dog Rose, Guelder Rose.
New hedges are usually planted at a spacing of 5 plants per metre in a double staggered row, this creates a thick hedge as soon as possible.
Mixed rural hedges are a traditional way of creating stock proof boundaries and can be used in gardens to create wildlife friendly hedges. Using a variety of species creates both good structure and a mixture of flowers, fruit and nuts for food for birds and mammals.
Single species of deciduous plants - for tree or hedge planting such as birch, beech - price depends on size and quantity.
